Everyone has their own vision of a Scottish log home. At Highland Log Homes we believe it is imperative to listen to you, the client, and indeed welcome your input. Although our Scottish log homes are built using traditional methods, there is a reason for this; having seen Norwegian log buildings over 700 years old still with visible axe marks and some of the wall joinery as good as the day it was made, we at Highland Log Homes believe that sometimes the old ways are the best. Obviously the craft of Scottish log home and cabin building in Scotland has developed and indeed continues to develop, but fundamentally the concept is the same.

However you as a client may not want to live in a traditional way - you may want an ultra-modern interior, who is to say that you can't have speakers on the ridge log, voice activated lighting and motion sensors in a log home? For the sake of romance, we personally prefer the image most people have, a 'rustic' home or cabin and a more self sufficient lifestyle, but our job is to build the log shell and the interior is your blank canvas to do with as you wish - providing you with a traditional hand crafted genuine Scottish log home or cabin.
